Live-Action TEEN TITANS Film in Development at DC Studios

Titans together...on the big screen!

The Hollywood Reporter has word that DC Studios is developing a live-action film based on DC Comics superteam the Teen Titans, with Ana Nogueira tasked with writing the screenplay.

Nogueira, 38, is an actress and playwright best known as Penny Ares on The Vampire Diaries TV series, and has appeared on episodes of The Blacklist, The Michael J. Fox Show, and Hightown. Currently, she's also working on the script for another DC film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starring Milly Alcock as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El.

Created in 1964 by Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani, the Teen Titans first appeared in The Brave and the Bold (vol.1) #54, where Robin (Dick Grayson), Kid Flash (Wally West) and Aqualad (Garth) teamed up to defeat a weather-controlling villain known as Mister Twister. They appeared under the name "Teen Titans" in The Brave and the Bold #60 and were joined by Wonder Woman's younger sister Wonder Girl (Donna Troy). After being featured in Showcase #59, the Teen Titans were spun off into their own series with Teen Titans (vol.1) #1 by Haney and artist Nick Cardy. Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy (Roy Harper) made guest appearances before officially joining the team in Teen Titans #19.

After running 43 issues, the series was cancelled in 1973, but was brought back in 1976 with additional team members, including African-American superheroes Guardian/Hornblower (Mal Duncan) and Bumblebee (Karen Beecher), along with former supervillain-turned-superhero Harlequin (Duela Dent). The revival was short-lived, however, and the series ended in 1978 with issue #53.

In 1980, writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez created a new incarnation of the team, the New Teen Titans, which debuted in DC Comics Presents #26 before getting their own series. Original members Robin, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash were joined by Beast Boy (Gar Logan), now called Changeling, and new superheroes Cyborg (Victor Stone), Raven (Rachel Roth) and Starfire (Koriand'r). Brought together by Raven to help defeat Raven's demonic father, Trigon, this version of the Teen Titans became the most popular incarnation of the team to date and a rival to Marvel's most popular superteam, the X-Men.

The New Teen Titans (vol.1) introduced other notable adversaries, including Deathstroke the Terminator, Brother Blood, and Blackfire, and featured classic stories such as "A Day in the Lives", "Runaways", and "Who Is Donna Troy?". In 1984, the series was relaunched as a second volume, while the original series became Tales of the Teen Titans. Before ending original stories with #58, Tales of the Teen Titans featured additional classic stories "The Judas Contract", which featured Robin adopting the new identity of Nightwing, and "We Are Gathered Here Today...", which told the story of Donna Troy's wedding.

After various incarnations of the Titans over the decades, the seven members of the New Teen Titans are once again the current version of the team in Titans (vol.4), now written by Tom Taylor and drawn by incoming artist Lucas Meyer. Following the events of the Dark Crisis event series and during Taylor's run on Nightwing (vol.4), Superman approached Nightwing with the proposition that he serve as the leader of the new superhero team, after the Justice League disbanded. This led to Nightwing unveiling a new Titans Tower in Bludhaven, with his friends from the New Teen Titans era, only now no longer teenagers.

NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 309: "The Evil of the Daleks" Is Up!

"No, Doctor. Look, I'm telling you this, we're finished. You're just too callous for me. Anything goes by the board, anything at all."
"That's just not true, Jamie. I've never held that the end justifies the means."
"Ach, words. What do I care about words? You don't give that much for a living soul except yourself."
"I care about life. I care about human beings. Do you think I let you go through that Dalek test lightly?"
"I don't know, did you? Look, Doctor, just whose side are you on?"

SUPERMAN (2025) Casts Wendell Pierce as Perry White

Great Caesar's Ghost! Don't call him Chief!

Deadline is reporting that James Gunn's upcoming 2025 film Superman, formerly known as Superman: Legacy, has cast Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White, best known to DC Comics fans as Clark Kent's boss.

Pierce joins David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific/Michael Holt, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho/Rex Mason, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Guy Gardner, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer/Angela Spica, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El.

Pierce, 60, is probably best known as Detective William "Bunk" Moreland on the HBO drama The Wire and has appeared in the films Malcolm X, Hackers, Waiting to Exhale, Ray, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, and Selma. His other TV appearances include episodes of Law & Order, Treme, Suits, Ray Donovan, Archer, Jack Ryan, and Elsbeth.

Created in 1940 by George Putnam Ludlam (radio), followed by Jerry Siegel and Wayne Boring (comics), Perry White first appeared in "Clark Kent, Reporter," an episode of The Adventures of Superman radio series before being introduced in comics later that same year in Superman (vol.1) #7.

The earliest Superman comics depict Clark Kent and Lois Lane working for the newspaper the Daily Star, under an editor named George Taylor. However, after Perry White's introduction in The Adventures of Superman radio series, the character was incorporated into the comic books, appearing as the editor of a newly renamed the Daily Planet. No in-story explanation for this change was given at the time, and neither George Taylor nor the Daily Star were mentioned again for many years.

Prior to the sweeping continuity changes detailed in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Perry White was depicted as having been a freelance reporter for various newspapers, including a Chicago newspaper and Gotham City's Gotham GazetteWhite eventually went to work at the Daily Planet as a reporter, and earned his first Pulitzer Prize by being the first to write about Superboy's extraterrestrial origins, thanks to an exclusive interview with the Boy of Steel. Finally, during Clark Kent's junior year of college, Perry was promoted to editor-in-chief of the newspaper, after the retirement of the paper's previous editor, George Taylor.

After Crisis, Perry White was recreated by John Byrne as being born in Metropolis' Suicide Slum area, growing up with his father missing in action in an overseas war. White went to school with Lex Luthor while they were children (Luthor was also born in Suicide Slum) and became a copy boy at the Daily Planet, beginning a lifetime career that took him up the newspaper's ladder.

After Luthor became a successful businessman, he began diversifying his holdings of his newly-founded LexCorp company, which included buying the Daily Planet. Turning down an offer from Luthor to become part of Luthor's new television station WLEX, White found an investor who saved the Daily Planet, on the condition that Perry was promoted from reporter to managing editor. The entire episode, including being forced out of his active reporting career, left White bitter and angry with Luthor.

White married Alice Spencer and had a son, Jerry White. Much later, after Jerry was fully grown, Perry learned that Luthor was Jerry's biological father. Luthor seduced and impregnated Alice while Perry was overseas reporting on a war and thought to have been killed.

In recent Superman comics, Lex Luthor used Manchester Black to erase all public knowledge of Superman's secret identity. Perry became the first to demonstrate what will happen if anyone is reminded of this secret, with Black's telepathic command nearly causing Perry to have a seizure. His brain can no longer accept the idea that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person.

Pierce will be the fifth actor to portray Perry White on film, after Pierre Watkin in the Superman (1948) and Atom Man vs. Superman movie serials, Jackie Cooper in the four Superman films starring Christopher Reeve, Frank Langella in Superman Returns, and Laurence Fishburne in the films Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Superman (2025) is expected to arrive in theaters on July 11, 2025.

"We shall meet again, Doctor, for the third time, for the last time, and the truth shall be told. Until that day..."

Marvel Studios Officially Announces Cast for THE FANTASTIC FOUR

And from this moment on, the world will never again be the same!

Variety is reporting that Marvel Studios has officially announced the cast for The Fantastic Four, the upcoming 2025 film based on the Marvel Comics superteam. It's now confirmed that the film will star Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch/Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing/Ben Grimm.

Created in 1961 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Fantastic Four first appeared in Fantastic Four (vol.1) #1 as a group who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space. Mister Fantastic, a scientific genius and the leader of the team, can stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes. The Invisible Woman, Reed's girlfriend and later wife, can render herself invisible and project powerful invisible force fields and blasts. The Human Torch, Sue's younger brother, can generate flames, surround himself with them, and fly. The Thing, Reed's college roommate and skilled pilot for the mission, possesses tremendous superhuman strength, durability and endurance with monstrous, stone-like flesh.

Matt Shakman, best known for Marvel's WandaVision as well as episodes of Game of Thrones and The Boys, will direct The Fantastic Four from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Filming is expected to begin in London by the summer. In addition, Marvel Studios posted the following artwork on X/Twitter, hinting at the FF's uniform designs and potentially a setting of, say, 1961?

Pascal, 48, is a Chilean and American actor best known as the star of The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, and has appeared on episodes of Game of Thrones as Oberyn Martell. He's also appeared in the movies Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Wonder Woman 1984.

Kirby, 35, is an English actress best known as Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of Netflix's The Crown and as Alanna Mitsopolis, a.k.a. The White Widow, in the Mission: Impossible films Fallout and Dead Reckoning Part One.

Quinn, 30, is an English actor best known as Eddie Munson in Season 4 of Netflix's Stranger Things. He's also appeared as Koner in the Game of Thrones episode "The Spoils of War."

Moss-Bachrach, 46, is an American actor probably best known as Richard "Richie" Jerimovich in the Hulu comedy-drama series The Bear. He's also appeared as Micro in the 2017 Punisher TV series and as Arvel Skeen in the Star Wars TV drama Andor.

The Fantastic Four is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 25, 2025.
